First things first! Our restricted program is NOT designed to teach people how to drive, instead it’s designed to make sure you are prepared enough to pass your restricted licence test.
We are able to provide an automatic vehicle free of use for anyone wanting to sit their test in an automatic. Anyone wanting to sit their test on a manual will need to provide their own warranted, registered manual vehicle. RUC must also be up to date if applicable. We are able to book your test on your behalf and transport you to Te Awamutu or Taumarunui for your test.
It is important for your safety, the safety of our instructors and other road users that you do not attend any scheduled appointments under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Eligibility Criteria
- Living within the Waitomo/Ōtorohanga District.
- Have held a current New Zealand learner licence card for 6 months or more.
- Be reasonably confident driving a vehicle
- Have done more than 40 hours of driving
Cost
- If you attend any of our local high schools you will pay $20 towards your test fee.
- If you are working, you are expected to pay your theory test fee of $134.80.
- If you are with Work & Income, we will discuss payment options with you directly.
- If you are not in school or working, you are expected to pay your theory test fee of $134.80.
On Program Expectations
- If you are unable to attend any scheduled appointment, you must notify Number Twelve as soon as possible.
- To attend all scheduled appointments with your physical licence card and vaccination passport. Photos of your licence will not be accepted.
- Pay your test fee ($20 or $134.80)
